Clinic website design in Rajkot

Saurashtra's largest city, and the first market on this list where the practice you lose a patient to is likely to be an institution rather than another independent.

  • Gujarat's healthcare-only web studio
  • A place we serve, not a place we staff

The market here

What is different about clinic search in Rajkot?

Institutional competitors

National hospital groups run multispecialty units here, and dermatology and physiotherapy sit among their departments. The larger dental practices present themselves as institutions too. Somewhere in that competitor set is a person whose whole job is marketing, which is not true of any smaller town on this list.

Found in a directory first

Booking and review directories carry deep Rajkot listings, with fees, ratings and appointment buttons. A great many patients meet you as a row in somebody else’s comparison table before they ever see anything you wrote.

What a directory row leaves out

Which doctor will actually treat you, what the first visit involves, and whether your particular problem is one this practice handles often. A directory has no room for any of it, and that gap is the entire argument for having your own pages.

Where the bar sits

Unlike the smaller towns on this list, most established Rajkot practices already have a claimed listing and a working website. Doing the ordinary groundwork gets you level here. Getting ahead takes depth.

Do you actually work in Rajkot?

This page opens with the question because the rest of this site earns the right to ask it. Elsewhere we have been rude about agencies that list a dozen cities and staff exactly one of them, so it would be poor form to quietly become one.

So: our studio is in Mehsana, roughly 250 kilometres away, and Rajkot is the furthest place we work from it. We have no office here and we are not opening one. It is a place we serve, not a place we sit.

What the distance genuinely changes is photography, which becomes a planned trip rather than a casual one. What it does not change is anything else, because none of the rest of the work has ever needed us to be in the room.

Who is a Rajkot clinic really competing with?

In Unjha or Siddhpur, the practice that takes a patient from you is another independent practice, run by someone much like you, with much the same time to spend on this.

Rajkot is the first market on this list where that stops being true. National hospital groups run multispecialty units in the city, and dermatology and physiotherapy sit inside them as departments. Several of the larger dental practices operate as institutions in their own right, with a brand and a message and a budget behind both.

That means somewhere in your competitor set there is a person whose entire job is marketing. You are not going to out-spend that, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something.

You can, though, out-specify it. A large organisation writes about a department, because a department is what it is selling. It very rarely writes the page about one condition, naming the doctor who treats it, saying what the first appointment involves and roughly what the course of treatment costs. That page is dull to write and nobody at a hospital is asked to. It is also the page the patient is looking for.

Why do patients meet you in a directory first?

In a small town, your Google listing is the comparison. In Rajkot, quite often, somebody else has already built the comparison and put you in it.

Booking and review directories carry deep listings for this city, complete with consultation fees, star ratings and an appointment button. For a good share of patients, the first time they encounter your practice is as one row among five, at a glance, in an interface you do not control.

This is not a problem to be solved so much as a fact to design around. Those listings are useful and they do bring appointments. But they flatten every practice in the city into the same shape, and a row of text cannot tell anyone why you would be the right choice for their particular problem.

What the patient checks after the shortlist

What can your own pages say that a directory row cannot?

Everything that actually decides it.

Which doctor will see them, and what that doctor has treated a great many of. What happens at the first visit, in order, so nobody arrives braced for something worse. How long the whole course usually runs, honestly, including the part where it takes longer than anyone would like. What it costs, or at least what decides the number.

None of that fits in a directory row, and none of it is hard to write. It is simply the part almost nobody does, because it takes an afternoon per treatment and it is not enjoyable.

That is the work here. A page for each thing you treat, written the way a patient asks about it rather than the way it appears on a qualification, with the enquiry sitting on the page they were already reading.

How competitive is clinic search in Rajkot?

Harder than anywhere in North Gujarat, and for a reason worth being clear about: the basics are already done here. Most established practices have a claimed listing, a working site and a reasonable set of reviews. In Patan you can move past a competitor by doing the ordinary things well. In Rajkot the ordinary things get you level.

What is still wide open is depth. The city is full of practices competing for twelve different searches with a single Services page, and losing all twelve to nobody in particular.

To see exactly where yours stands before spending anything, ask for a free written review. It covers your listing, your load time on a real phone, your treatment coverage, your reviews, and what the practices ranking above you are doing differently. Two working days, no obligation, and if the honest answer is that nothing needs changing, that is what it will say.

Rajkot · Questions

Asked about working in Rajkot

We are competing with a hospital that has a marketing department. Does a website change that?

It does not let you outspend them, and we would not claim otherwise. What it lets you do is compete where they are weakest. A hospital markets the hospital, so its pages describe a department in general terms. You can write the page for one condition, in the words patients use, naming the doctor who treats it and saying what the first visit involves. That is a page a large organisation almost never bothers to write, and it is the one a worried patient is actually searching for.

Most of our new patients come from a booking directory. Do we still need our own site?

Yes, and for two reasons. The directory gets you onto a shortlist; it very rarely gets you chosen, because every practice on that list looks broadly alike in a row of text. Patients who are deciding between three names look each one up, and what they find then is what settles it. The second reason is plainer: you do not own that listing, you cannot change how it ranks you, and it can put a competitor directly beneath your name.

Everyone in Rajkot already has a website. What actually moves us?

Depth, in the specific sense of one page per thing you treat rather than one page listing everything. Most sites here have a Services page with twelve items on it, which means they are competing for twelve searches with one page and winning none of them properly. A page that covers a single condition thoroughly, with what it costs, how long it takes and what recovery looks like, has almost no competition even in a city this size.

Are you based in Rajkot?

No, and it is worth saying plainly because Rajkot is the furthest place we work from the studio. We are in Mehsana, around 250 kilometres away, and that is the only office we have. What that distance changes is photography: it is a planned trip rather than someone dropping in on a Tuesday, and we arrange it once and shoot properly. Everything else, the writing, the build, the listing, the monthly upkeep and the quarterly review, works exactly the same as it would for a practice on our own road.
